Trad Jewish Cheesecake

We have been asked to a friend's house this week to celebrate Hanukkah with them. I would like to make a trad Noo Yawk-style Jewish cheesecake to take with me, but can only find recipes with US measurements, and also weird US ingredients that I don't recognise. Anyone got a recipe with UK quantities that I can use please?

Nigella has a receipe for NY cheesecake in her Domestic Goddess book. I think it's probably on her website too.

I made an Annie Bell one which was pretty good. I thought it was in Food Illustrated but the one on Waitrose's website doesn't look quite the same.
