Does anyone have a good recipe for biscuits to bake, decorate and hang on the tree? Worried they might go all soft and stale haning on a tree for a week or two. Or am I being niaive (sp???) and they won't last that lone?

Are you going to eat them?

I am going to make salt dough decorations with the children and paint and varnish them - from a recipe kindly put on here.

I bought mine in IKEA last year. Blush They went a bit soft after a week or two on the tree, but the dcs didn't seem to mind.

One or two had bites out of them already when I took them down.

Nigella has a good one

I use the Sainsbo's spiced Christmas Biscuits recipe every year, they keep okay. Ignore the stacking business, they have updated the recipe online but the basic biscuit dough remains unchanged.

.....the one thing you do need to do is make a large hole in the top so you can thread through some ribbon or thread for hanging. Make it twice or three times the size hole you want to end up with as it closes up on cooking.
