Storing Crudites?

Simple question: I need crudite tomorrow. Do I store them in water before then? Will they be ok?

I hope the answer is "yes, store them in water", as that's what I've done. Well, I've not done cucumbers yet ... somehow it seems like they'd not keep. Am I wrong?
