Next Sunday I'm cooking a "sort of" Christmas dinner, (turkey & most of the trimmings) for 12 people. I'm planning on making tiramisu and having a cheese board, just need another pud. Dd wants banoffee pie, I think it'll be too heavy.

What about a pannacotta or a lemon possett? creamy and light so not too heavy after a big meal.

Fruit salad is a good alternative for a light dessert - and you could make it festive with pomegranete/plum/chopped dried figs/dates in with the main fruits.

I like a combo of: Sliced orange, sliced apple rings, melon balls, pomegranete, quartered dried figs, grapes and a bit of cinnamon and nutmeg Smile

pannacotta is good, as Slobbadan said.

erm, Lemon meringue pie or a citrus tart? Either with cream? Fruit is good too.

Still, if your DD wants banoffee pie, maybe she wants something sweet for pudding, rather than the savoury of the cheese or the coffee taste of the tiramisu. Get in some nice ice cream? Or maybe say, to ell with it and offer the banoffee? Worst case, people go for the lighter desserts and only your DD has it. Well, that's not the end of the world, is it?

mmmm banoffeeeeeee....

All the suggestions sound nice but if you are already serving Tiramisu, which is of a creamy consistency, you might not want a Banoffee pie which can also be a bit cloying/creamy or Possett which I love, but is also creamy. You could try the fruit salad suggested by Smash09n or do something warm like Apple pie/crumble or Tarte Tatin.

I like an exotic fruit salad around Christmas, tis very refreshing. Thinly sliced pineapple either served with mint sugar or with pulp of passion fruit and a few tbsns ornage juice, marinated for a few hours in the fridge. Can serve with good vanilla ice cream.

Or - I am going to do pineapple sorbet with roasted pineapple this year. Must make that sorbet....
