crispy baked potatoes

Tomorrow we are having lots of people for lunch. We will be out all morning so I've made a casserole which can sit waiting for us in the slow cooker. I want to do baked potatoes with it, and was planning to set my oven to come on during the morning so that they are ready when we get back.

This means they will be sitting in the oven as it heats up from cold, and I'm wondering if they will still end up with crispy skins. I usually roll them in olive oil and a little salt and bake them in quite a hot oven so the skins are great.

Any advice please?

Yes they will.
I'd do them the same way you are.

Thanks mugglewump. How long do you give them and at what temp?

About an hour and a half, but I always do big ones, at 200degrees.

Is that 90 mins from the oven coming on? I'm never sure how long it takes to reach the correct temp, when setting the oven to come on while I'm out.

Yeah, because they cook for so long, I don't bother to preheat the oven.

OK, thanks.
