Anyone else like corned beef and brown sauce or pickled onion and cheese, or is it just me? Also like peanut butter and salt & vinegar crisps (am I weird?)

OP posts:

Crispy bacon, strong cheddar, raw red onion and ketchup. Very bad, but very, very good.

Very very banned atm as dieting, not even having bread. This thread is like porn for me. :)

bruffin · 13/11/2010 21:03

cripy bacon and avocado

Brie and grapes or something like cranberry sauce

Bacon and tomato

peanut butter and jam

condensed milk

and my favorite but very bad for you, the jelly stuff you get in the bottom of the pan when you roast a chicken.

KnickKnack · 13/11/2010 21:08

cheese toastie with thick white bread under the grill...add crisps before you sandwich it together

mashed banana and nutella sandwich

toast and chip sandwich (loads of salt and vinegar and black pepper, and a smidge of tomato ketchup)

KnickKnack · 13/11/2010 21:09

peanut butter and salt & vinegar crisps sounds delish OP!

KnickKnack · 13/11/2010 21:10

Corned beef and Branston pickle all time fave, when not dieting Grin.

When watching weight, prawn with light mayo and salad on brown or granary Smile.

thighsmadeofcheddar · 13/11/2010 21:14

My boxing day sandwich

Turkey, cranberry, brie, lettuce and avocado on a white baguette. Heaven.

winnybella · 13/11/2010 21:21

Cheese, avocado and Marmite.

BobLoblaw · 13/11/2010 21:36

Cheshire cheese and pickled beetroot, or cheddar cheese, cucumber and salad cream, I'm hungry now.

KenDoddsDadsDog · 13/11/2010 21:39

Corned beef tomato & red onion
Cheese marmite & cucumber
Mmmmm

MadameCastafiore · 13/11/2010 21:41

My Grandma used to make us sugar sandwiches on palsticky white vread - was fab. I added apple as a teem=n to make it healthier - raw thin slices of apple with butter and white sugar on white bread. Is yum!

tb · 13/11/2010 21:42

Hard boiled egg with thinly pickled walnut
Cheshire cheese with both pickled onion and pineapple - not had this for about 40 years
Cheshire cheese and lemon curd
Cheddar, tomato and black pepper on wholemeal bread
Low fat philly-type cheese with smoked salmon

BUT absolutely hate any type of 'solid' sandwich fillings like roast meat - lamb would be worst, can't eat a bacon butty, they make me gag, just won't go down.

KnickKnack · 13/11/2010 21:42

sugar sandwiches on plastic white! blast from the past [grin[

bluebump · 13/11/2010 21:44

Oh yes, strong cheddar and marmite, yummmmy!

MadameCastafiore · 13/11/2010 21:45

Have had a coupleof glasses of wine and would love a sugar sandwich but don't have anh plastic bread or the DCs inhale it.

I may go and buy some Monday and have one all for myself inthe cupboard under the stairs so no one sees me.

Lovemybrood · 13/11/2010 21:46

Cheese and Jam
Cottage cheese and marmite
Ham
Cheese and Salad Cream
French brie and red grape.
Tuna and Olives.

nameymcnamechange · 13/11/2010 21:49

I once had a fantastic sandwich in a remote rural cafe in France: big wodge of baguette, lashings of unsalted butter, thick slices of salty ham. It was so plain and sooooooooo lush, I've never eaten a better sandwich.

Otherwise, in plain old London:

Pret a Manger coronation chicken sandwich.

Bacon and avocado sandwich on really dense chewy wholemeal bread.

KnickKnack · 13/11/2010 21:50

I always buy white at the weekend...thick white toast and coffee with maple syrup on a Sunday morning! might let the kids experience a sugar sandwich tomorrow morning.

I have great memories of custard cream sandwiches (wouldn't be the same these days, as most biscuits are so cheaply made they taste nothing like they used to :( )

Borisismyhousespider · 13/11/2010 21:52

Cheese and Jam, or cheese and ketchup here Grin

Baileysismyfriend · 13/11/2010 21:57
