Just about to start making these and notice the recipe just says 'flour' and doesn't specify whether plain or SR. Will it be plain?

I have both though.

TIA

plain

Those brownies are disappointing.

notasize10yetbutoneday · 12/11/2010 14:09

That WAS quick! Thank you so much

Really pyramid? I thought they were regarded as the creme de la creme of brownies. Which recipe do you recommend?

OMG they are NOT disappointing. In fact they've ruined all other brownies for me. Are they the ones with no nuts...just unadulterated dark squidgy chocolate?

notasize10yetbutoneday · 12/11/2010 14:17

yep- 250g of it! Eek.

plain flour
and they're uber lush
a few of us gluttons MN-ers swapped recipes and compared notes on the wonders of brownies a while back
it's well worth a readSmile

Blonde I did read the thread, which meant i have craved brownies like crack-- was what gave me the idea to make them.

Gah! Anyway, will make Nige's as its 2 to 1. I am salivating already and I have't got the mixing bowl out yet.

I found them too fudgey and not cakey enough and they took much longer to cook than the recipe said.
Better are the rolo ones from here, just the right mix of fudgey and cakey and with added caramel.

I'm just about to do chocolate fudge muffins.

aseriouslyblondemoment · 12/11/2010 14:26

oooh

now they sound rather nice
think you should tell us more pyramid!Grin

PyramidofScotcheggs · 12/11/2010 14:30

this recipe but baked in muffin cases.
Yonks ago I bought a piping set and chucked it in the back of the cupboard.
I mentioned it on here the other day and decided I really should use it, so today I'm going to!
It's a fantastic recipe btw, best chocolate fudge I've ever tasted and really easy.

Also if I actually use the piping set I can get away with not opening the 30 Day Shred DVD I bought for ever another day or two.Grin

found rolo brownies here on another thread
Rolo brownies are:
150g (5oz) Plain chocolate
110g (4oz) Unsalted butter
225g (8oz) Golden caster sugar
1/2 tsp Vanilla extract
3 Large eggs
75g (3oz) Plain flour
1 level tsp Baking powder
Rolos (approx. 2 packets)

Preheat oven to 170c, 325 F, gas mark 3.

Melt the chocolate and butter together. Leave to cool slightly.

Whisk the sugar, vanilla extract and eggs together until combined. Add the chocolate mixture.

Sift over the flour and baking powder. Stir well to combine.

Pour into a greased, lined baking tray and smooth the surface.

Place Rolos at even intervals

Bake on the middle shelf of the oven for 40 minutes. Cut so each brownie has a Rolo in it.

They are scrummy, quite cakey though.
