I want to make a soup that isn't orange!

I am making the following soups on rotation and would really like a change- not so much from the taste but from the appearance of them!

Carrot and coriander- orange
butternut squash and sweet potato- orange
lentil and bacon- yellow-orange
tomato and roasted peppers- reddy orange!

I would really like to make a green soup. i know i could just grab a load of green veg and stick it in but Im not sure what that would taste like! Does anyone have any tried and tested recipes? I'm not overly keen on peas- don't mind them as an ingredient but not as the star of the show IYSWIM.

Any ideas for non- orange soups appreciated.

I've been making a lot of minestrone.

Chop and sweat a lot of finely chopped veg (onions, peppers, courgette, carrot). Add a carton of passata and some stock. Add some fast cooking soup mix (got some stuff in Tesco that cooks in 10 mins and contains pasta, barley, lentils etc). Simmer until pasta etc is soft. Keep an eye on how liquid it is and add more stock if necessary.

Really quick and really tasty.

I also make beetroot and apple soup that DS loves. It is the most amazing colour!

Forgot to add on the Thai spinach soup - to finish off add a dash of lime, fish sauce and a bit of sugar for a real winner

Pea and roasted garlic: Roast a whole head of garlic with the top cut off, then place in food processor with 1kg cooked (frozen) garden peas and blitz till smooth. Place in a pan and add chicken or veg stock, and heat up. Serve with creme fraiche - gorgeous, and green!

Curried parsnip and apple - st Delia recipe. Absolutely delicious and perfect for the time of year. Creamy brownish colour.

Pasta pesto soup - onions garlic sauteed, cooked pasta, peas, frozen spinach, stock and pesto at the end. Very green!

Watercress soup - bunch of watercress, chopped onion, garlic, diced potato, chicken stock.

Soften onion in butter, with garlic, add stock, cress, potato. Cook until potato really soft otherwise it will be grainy. Blend, add milk poss a bit of cream to finish and check seasoning.
