Maybe covering fish? Or some king of stuffing?

Well? Anybody with any suggestions?

You can use it to coat things in.

I use it sometimes in vegetarian type of shepherds pie - mix it with pulses and veg as part of the base.

In fact it is reasonably interchangeable with couscous, takes up flavour well, and can be served instead of rice with spicy or tomatoey dishes.

Or with vegetable/meat kebabs.

Thank you - do I soak it first?

Yes,soak in boiling water for 10 mins or so - until plumped up and softish (don't let it get too soggy)

I use it IN kebabs - rather as you might use breadcrumbs in burgers. Soak the bulgur wheat, mix it with lamb minced, spices (I like cumin, chilli and coriander) and plenty of seasoning.

I make this mixture into little koftas. You can also roll the koftas in more soaked bulgur to give a gorgeous crunchy coating when you fry them.

I serve them with toasted pitta, shredded lettuce and garlicky creme fraiche for that authentic doner kebab flavour

YUM

Sorry stupid mobile internet didn't mean to post yet! So yep I fry onion and garlic add some cubes of lamb or sometimes I just chop the does of some lamb chops and keep them for this, then lightly fry add tomato puree and boiling water and a Vegi oxo then a cup of Bulgaria wheat and cumin salt and pepper and a half a teaspoon of dried rosemary bring to the boil then simmer for an hour til it thickens and the Bulgar is cooked then bed a tin of chickpeas they usually only need bout 5min then dish up with crusty bread mmm lovely and hearty :)

I use it in veg chili, stuffed veggies and tabbouleh.
