Can I ice cakes the day before?

I normally do cake decs/icing same day as party but have no time this year. If I bake birthday cupcakes and ice them same day, will they be ok to serve up the next day?

Absolutely fine, and they'll be fine for about a week after too, if they last that long!

Yes, if it's glace icing or butter icing then it should be okay. If it's cream cheese however, it will slide off.

absolutely! What type of icing are you usting?

thanks all, thought it would be but best to check, don't want to ruin the big event with crap cakes Grin Going to do half butter icing, and half with either choc frosting or apricot frosting. Second thoughts might give apricot a miss though after cream cheese comment Hmm
