stewing steak ....

I've cooked some stewing steak tonight ready to make meat & potato pie for tomorrow, but my question is .....

do I put it in the fridge IN it's juices or do I drain it first ???

I know the simplest answer would be to just make the actual pie tonight, but I'm 36 wks and REALLY can't be bothered to peel and mash potatoes and sort the pastry now tonight !

Thanks !

I'd be inclined to keep it in its juices so it doesn't dry out. Don't you want them for the gravy in the pie anyway?

Thanks, I wasn't going to get rid of them, I just didn't know if the meat might go funny being left in them ?

Keep in juices, definitely. It will dry out otherwise.

I would do a quick gravy now and leave it overnight in that. It won't take long and the beef with really soak up the flavour.
