How long can I keep monkey nuts for?

Or do they go off like fruit? I am never sure.

I think they can last a year or so in thier shell. Not sure though..

I am still usually eating them months after Halloween and they still taste fine and look the same.

Thanks that was what I found when I googled it- but also that they could get black and produce a potent carcinogen .
