MN Jury - YOU decide..................Tesco OR Asda?

We have mainly shopped at asda, occasionally I will go to lidl or aldi or netto but the past few weeks I have used Tesco for the following reasons:

I like to do the shopping online as I am a childminder and I buy food for 7-8 people most of the week.
I usually use asda but their online service has been appaling of late, the website keeps being temp unavailable etc
When I rang to complain it had taken me 18 hours on and off to actually finish my order they said sorry, we know the website is having issues - no offer of money off, not even free delivery and it hasn't been a one off which would have made it slightly more acceptable, it went on for a few weeks so I have given up on them. Also the drivers seem to turn up when they like without ringing me first. It's really gone downhill and I have always been a loyal customer.

But we are broke, dh is saying asda was cheaper and can't we try again but I have had enough of their service (lack of) I think maybe it is costing more for tesco at the moment because I haven't had time to add to my favourites and check out the best deals etc but I will get better and build it all up plus you get the clubcard points and money off petrol etc

SO MN Jury..........

Which is better?

Tesco OR Asda?

We don't have a waitrose or morrisons so can't use those plus they are more expensive than tesco I think (I could be wrong?)

There is a sainsburys I could try I suppose?

Tesco.

Better food (imo)
Better service in store (imo)
Better internet shop (imo)
Better delivery overall (imo)

They don't take a ghost payment like Adsa do - you can shop in advance if you have 1p available in your account.

I tend to google for Tesco codes and get the money off the delivery at the very least.

DanceInTheDark · 02/11/2010 21:13

Sainsburys is our usual shop.

I use Waitrose if i can. They price match Tesco.

yes go to sainsburys. that's my fave

Did try asda online but very little difference in price if you look for offers rather than sticking religiously to certain brands. Found I also didn't get a lot of items with asda and as I work out the weekly menu in detail so I can avoid having to shop again, spendine more blardy money i'd rather go with tesco and get what I ordered.

Whats good about Sainsburys?

What are the reward point things all about etc?

I think there's not much in the price tbh as I think I have brought more with tesco, I tried the recipes and ordering what I needed which I found handy because I get bored of cooking the same things but I'm limited because I have 1 child who is dairy intolerant and 2 who don't eat pork, none of them like spicey food which dh really does so it's tricky as it is.
