Flour Mites

I have just baked some fairy cakes, they look delicious, the problem is when I was putting away the flour, I noticed that there were flour mites around the top and some in the flour itself. Should I throw the cakes away?

Personally I wouldn't eat them but I'm a vegetarian. :)

I don't think you'd really enjoy them knowing what's in them would you?

Also check other dried things in your cupboard too in case they are effected too.

It's a bit gross but probably safe to eat them as they have been cooked and killed, if you really cannot bear to throw them. I always always check my flour before using it as I have had so many problems in the past with the little blighters. I have even found them in a brand new bag of flour so I am very cautious now.

Extra crunch Grin

But I personally wouldn't eat them.

Do you have a school cake sale coming up soon? Freeze them and donate!! Wink
