How would tinned strawberries work? I've used them before in deserts, they are a bit mushy but I would imagine they'd be fine in smoothies. I have only seen frozen raspberries in my supermarket (Morrisons).

Can't you freeze some strawberries yourself alibubbles?

Failing that I know they do frozen mixed berries at Costco in Bushey, but you need to be a member to shop there.

I've never seen frozen strawberries either - only raspberries. Which is weird because if you can freeze raspberries you should be able to freeze strawberries.

I think I've seen them in Marks and Spencer. Not entirely sure though!

frozen strawberries turn into goo when thawed, so you can't do anything with them (except smoothies!) thus they aren't widely sold. do your own? or try cutting up a pineapple into chunks and using that frozen - makes fantastic smoothies with banana and orange juice.

funnily enough - I defrosted some strawberries for lunch today

They taste just like tinned in juice - does that help Alibubbles?

If I remember rightly most uk supermarkets do them. I remember seeing them in Safeway but that was 2 years ago.

starshaker · 16/09/2005 07:35

katymac · 16/09/2005 07:46

Alibubbles - I use mine for bulk cooking,

make a quiche for C/M lunch - freeze 3
Make a sweet potatoe pie for lunch (only get an extra 1 of these to freeze as C/Mee & DH love it so much)
I also freeze cake/biscuits etc

anorak · 16/09/2005 08:25

starshaker has a point alibubbles, perhaps they might have them at Willows Farm?
