flapjack that comes out of the tin

Kids love flapjack but mine(Delia's recipe) stays in the tin or disintegrates so I throw the tin at the table and let them do whatever they want.. no wonder they like stuffing their faces with it.
Anyway anybody got a foolproof recipe as ds is on the case? please

Nigella's Flapjacks

450g rolled oats
75g soft brown sugar
300g unsalted butter
50g golden syrup
sesame seeds optional.

190 Degrees C/ Gas mark 5

Mix oats with sugar. melt butter with golden syrup. stir in oats and sugar. Press into tin (I line mine with foil), sprinkle seeds if you want them. Bake for 25 minutes.

Leave to cool completely after marking them into squares.

I add raisins or chopped dates/apricots too.

Thanks for the recipe. My friend lent me the Domestic Goddess book this am and ds and i embarked on flapjacks striaght after nursery. Decided to double the quantity of syrup as kids love flapjack, then thought hey ho not much syrup left anyway I'll triple it...should have read on cos then needed 900g of marge!!!!!!!! So syrup back in the tin- messy and finally ended up with double quantites. It has come out of the tin (used greaseproof) and has set(used marge)It is very solid and think I may have got distracted with doubling up and down and quantities.
Anyway KBear- when you make it (properly!) does it produce a crispy flapjack ?
Loved the piccies in the Domestic Goddess book- yum yum

debutante - that made me LOL! I do that doubling quantities thing then get completely confused. Especially when the kids are helping!!

Yes, they are crispy outside by soft when you bite them.

Oh I feel better now. Everyone else can stockpile petrol but i am the woman with falpjack. Have had 1 piece at 6pm and no tea as very filling! Could be new diet... esp if you include pumpkin seeds
