What are the best meat substitutes for vegetarians?

I'm moving towards vegetarianism and am happy with just veggies, beans etc; I'd prefer to avoid too much processed food but DH and DDs prefer something a bit more meat-like.

Quorn mince and sausages have gone down well so far, but what are the best products out there - in terms of taste and in terms of ingredients?

My dh always liked haloumi, not a substitute for meat taste but for a good satisfying texture. hth

Cauldron Lincolnshire sausages are good - although I do try to steer clear of most substitutes

i use alot of tofu, cauldron i believe. All of the couldren products are good.

Quorn have a cook book which is amazing, might be worth purchasing one you need 2 promotional codes from quorn products

The quorn roast joint is nice as well.

Tesco (i think) do a nice cheese and leek sausage for that comfort food!

Great, thanks. I can't say I'm a big tofu fan but I'll give the rest a try.
