I want hot chocolate.

The powwdered galaxy and cadbures ones do nothing for me, ditto the options ones.

How can I get proper tasting hot chocolate??

When I make hot chocolate I do it the following way;

Put 2-3 squares of good quality chocolate into a mug. Top up with a couple of tablespoons of water or thereabouts.

Microwave on medium for 30 secs. Stir. Repeat until chocolate is completely melted and combined with the water, and you have a smooth liquid.

Fill up the rest of the mug with milk (pref full fat but any will do) and microwave to desired temp. Give a good stir with a fork to mix in any stray melty bits.

Job done - tastes a million times nicer than bought stuff. You can do the same method in a pan but it's more washing up!

I use cocoa powder or chocolate bar.

With cocoa powder (ie pure, no sugar or anything) I put a heaped tbs per person into a pan with milk and heat it all up stirring constantly. Add some vanilla extract and bring to very hot but not boiling. Then sweeten to taste with sugar/honey/whatever you like.

With chocolate I just melt about 25g per person in to hot milk and sweeten if needed.

Squirty cream on top Grin
