Do pickled onions go off?

And how do you tell? How long would it take? Got an open jar that may be 2 yrs old, couple of onions have got little spots on, others look OK. Having fish and chips, so need to make a decision....

I am guessing that there's no use by date on the jar? it's because there is no use by date - they'll survive a nuclear holocaust

They were fine, crunchy. I threw out the spotty ones, I think they had poked out of the vinegar. Very fine with fish & chips Smile
