That's it, DD has developed some sort of toddler PMt craving for the stuff and I don't have a recipe book for cakes or anything. If you know times and temps for fan assisted oven as well I'd be very grateful!

For gingerbread men you need
350g plain flour, 1 level tsp bicarb of soda, 2 level tsp ground ginger, 100g butter, 175g soft light brown sugar, 4 level tbsp golden syrup, 1 beaten egg.

Sift together the flour, bicarb and ginger, rub in the butter, add the sugar and mix well. Warm the syrup until it's easy to pour and stir into the ginger mixture with the beaten egg until well blended, Knead together until the gingerbread mixture is smooth, roll out and cut into shapes.

Bake at 190 degrees C gas mark 5 for 10-15 mins, cool then decorate.

Hope this is the kind of ginger bread you mean, the cake one is a bit different, don't have a recipe for that.

Giood luck

Thanks, we made the gingerbread this morning with great success. I think I spent as long clearing up as we did making it, but DD loved it. Only thing is she now thinks that she can eat them all for lunch
