Hiya, My parents are going to the Maldives next week for their Ruby wedding anniversary, I wanted to get them a nice gift on their arrival, am afraid the cost of champagne is astronomical, so now I will just have to go with sparkling wine & flowers.

They have given me a choice and in my budget I only have two

Hardy's Premium Cuvee Brut
or
Kraemer Brut Blanc de Blanc

I havnt a clue, is anyone familiar with these and could recommend which one I should go for? They would generally prefer a medium/dry taste rather than too sweet.

Thank you.

Have you looked at prosecco? or is that all there is?

Yes they have got a Bottega Prosecco Brut it is $50 which is $10 more, do you think it would be worth paying extra and going for that one?

I don't know the Kraemer, but the Hardy's is perfectly acceptable.

Crikey, $60! is that about 60 quid??! Where are you?
Prosecco here is £7.99!

Sorry, I'm not familiar with the other two.

Yep madness eh? its in the Maldives, crazy prices, the hotel wanted $440 for them both to have a massage in the spa and a glass of sparkling wine, gulp.

You can see why I am so concerned about getting something drinkable at least for that price.

It'll have had to be imported, which is why it's so expensive. What about getting them a cocktail made with freshly-squeezed local fruit juice?

Hardy's is quite nice but Shock at the prices!
