8 month DD allergic to cheddar?

I just gave my 8 month DD some grated cheddar. She loves grated cheese. I have given her different cheeses but this one was mature. She had some yesterday and seemed fine. But today she suddenly developed red blotches on her face with white spots. I took the cheese away and within 20 minutes or so they went down. She has greek yogurt every day and loves that so I think she can't be lactose intolerant. I breastfeed with the occasional bottle. I guess I should stick with mild cheddar. Anyone know about this?

Mature cheeses have a much higher histamine level than milder cheeses. I'd be tempted to give her a small amount of mature cheese again to see if she has a similar reaction again and it wasn't something else, and if so, then stick to mild dairy.
