Posh butterfly buns?

My Mil has asked for some butterfly buns for her birthday (as in, as her present but I will get her something to open as well)

Any ideas how I could make them a bit more special since they're for a special occasion?

Ah, I forgot to mention, they need making tomorrow as it's her birthday Thursday.

Good idea though, I'm off to town tomorrow so will have a wander to the cake stall on the market & see if they have any.

My dp only told me this afternoon & I have been having a bit of a flap as I used pretty much my entire baking cupboard today making us loads of biccy's and cakes for the next week

Which town? Have you got a Lakeland? They sell glitter, but not as big a range as a proper cake supply shop!

I'm in Doncaster, nothing as exciting as a Lakeland

Best I can hope for is the lady on the cake stall in the market is there tomorrow morning or I can rush in Thursday after dropping dd at nursery

could you add her favourite flavour to the cakes and icing?
use matching cake cases?
then add extra decoration to tie-in with the flavours
