Come Dine With Me Menu

SheWillBeLoved · 05/10/2010 21:33

I'm having a tacky game of Come Dine With Me with some friends (2 couples, 1 singleton, and me) starting after Halloween.

I need some help to plan my winning menu/night Grin

One friend is allergic to cheese, one friend only likes melted cheese, one hates mushrooms, and one isn't keen on shellfish. Other than that, everything is game (I think, if not - tough!)

Can you all help me? Please! I'm having trouble looking at recipes and thinking "Yeah, that'll be perfect!"

Roasted red pepper and tomato soup - light but really tasty and easy to make.

Beef bourgignon and garlicky mash and green beans

Apple tarte tatin and whipped brandy cream

Frenchy but all stuff that most people like!

Or actually instead of the beef (incase you think that would be too rich/not what they'd go for) a really nice dish is Chicken tarragon stew by delia. I love the flavours in that. And it's lovely with either mash or new potatoes and greens.

If you are doing CDWM for real surely the point is that you give your guests stuff that they don't like so they can pick at it but say it's lovely at the table then bitch about it to camera afterwards??

Nigella - Shhhh Wink I'm using my knowledge to my advantage! Why should I go and spend time and money on ingredients that I know will be pushed to one side?! This way, they'll have naff all to moan about and victory shall be miiiiine Grin

Smash09 - Thanks for the suggestions - I'll have a look at those recipes :)

ppeatfruit - I've already claimed my mums best silverware (in a case and everything!) for the occasion Grin
