can you freeze dal?

split pea dal or the tiny little pinky orange kind? I have a hankering for indian this eve, but it's just me so won't make it if texture will be bad after freezing. and do you add the tarka before freezing?

Just cook it all, then freeze it. It'll be fine. I do this loads.
