We have 6 adulrs and 7 children coming for dinner on Sunday, and I have just remembered that 3 of the kids well only eat plain pasta. Wondering how I can make this into a meal for all of us, and hoping someone can think f something more glam than a tureen of meatballs ... tia

You can't beat a good lasagne. Add smoked bacon and chorizo to the bolognaise and plenty of red wine. Also a tsp of wholegrain mustard in the white sauce makes it a bit more interesting.
Bowl of salad, some garlic bread and jobs a gooden!

If thats not plain enough for the fussy kids cook some plain pasta and put in dish on table for them to help themselves to. Then leave parents to decide what they should eat. Its only one meal and really the adults enjoyment of the food is most important??

You can pot roast a rolled shoulder of pork long and slow (no skin on) with sliced onions, garlic, a glug of wine, some chicken stock, sage, salt and pepper.

Check on it now and then to make sure it's got enough liquid.

When it's cooked, you can add some cream to the onions and stock to make a sauce, serve that with pasta and the sliced meat. Nice with a green veg side.

That way the kids have the pasta, but you all still get a sunday lunchish piece of meat!
