Can i just use Closed cup mushrooms?

Hi,

I'm cooking Chicken Broth (for the 1st time)and the recipe says to use shitake mushrooms and to add them 10mins before the end. I forgot to buy any, can i just use closed cup mushrooms and add them 10mins before the end??

Silly question but can i freeze some of it? Forgot we're off to see the grandparents tomorrow and having dinner with them. Or will it keep in the fridge till sunday maybe?
