I think I might be worrying unnecessarily

But if I do all the prep for a pasta bake this evening - cook pasta, fry onions/leeks etc and put it all together (my usual way is to chuck cooked pasta in with sweetcorn, spinach, tuna cheese and creme fraiche) wrap up the dish and store it in the fridge over night, it'll be ok to bake in the oven tomorrow lunchtime won't it?

I've a friend coming over for lunch tomorrow and want to minimise what I have to do in the morning!

Of course it will, I'd just make sure the pasta was cold before adding the other ingredients so that it doesn't turn everything to mush.

you may need to add more creme frech than usual as i find the pasta tends to 'suck' it up if its sitting in it over night

Ah yeah, sucky pasta, I don't know how many times I've gone to the fridge for a scoop of tuna mayo pasta and found just tuna pasta. Maybe leave adding wet ingredients until just before you put it in the oven to save using double the amount?

Of course - hadn't factored in the sucky pasta! Thank you ladies - will cook the pasta/veg etc tonight and chuck in the other stuff in the morning.

Hurrah for MN :)

Agree with adding the wet stuff tomorrow, just a bit of olive oil on the pasta to stop it sticking in a big lump.
