Hi All

A friend and I have been asked to help with cookery sessions in our schools nursery. So far we have done the obligatory rice crispie cakes and sausage rolls, but we need some more ideas...

We need things that dont have too many ingredients, doesnt take over an hour and isnt too tricky...hee hee you will start to see the problem here!!

Any and all ideas would be very much appreciated, so please come and share with me...

Thanks

Pizza - make the dough and sauce ahead, have them roll out the dough and put the toppings on.

Smoothies

The safe knives from Pampered chef are great

Children like learning skills too - so peeling carrots is fun in it's self; cutting up apples (that you peeled & cored for a very young children) - you have to remember some of these children can't manage a knife & fork yet; peeling satsumas

Pizza using a crumpet as a base with pasta sauce for the tomato & cheese with the children picking veggies to add on top

Cheese straws

Cheese and ham muffins are great and really easy.

Also what about doing something with eggs - boiled eggs or an omlette or frittata?

The DCs help me make fairy cakes and particularly like doing the decoration. DS also loves making mashed potato and gravy.

ooooh thanks Ladies. Definitely gonna give all of those a go! and thanks KatyMac you are so right about peeling and chopping, I hadnt thought about it like that but for their age the 'doing' is just as much fun as the final outcome.
