Hi everyone, I was really inspired yesterday by an experience of taking my children to a market near us (does anyone go to Stroud Farmers' Market?) I got blogging about it yesterday and I'd love to find out what people think about shopping with their children, and if anyone has anywhere really unique they go shopping with their families? My blog is on mixmashandmunch.blogspot.com - its non-commercial, just ideas and recipes from my adventures in the kitchen with my children. Hope to hear from you :)

We go to the local farm shop nearly every week. I feel very lucky to be able to do that. Dh and I buy lovely food whilst the dcs look at the animals! Much better than Tesco Grin

lucky things, what a great way to shop! My children don't mind tescos too much, although I always feel like I get 'looks' from people if my children so much as raise their voices above a whisper! Our experiences at the market yesterday was wonderful, definitely going to be going back for more. :)

We are incredibly lucky to have a fish van which comes round a couple of times a week. When the klaxon sounds we all come out of our houses and get in the queue. Its like something out of the 1950s.

In fact to be fair there are two vans but one is in a completely different league to the other. One just does fish but the other does amazing fish, plus a little meat, eggs (incl duck eggs) and fantastic fresh fruit. Nothing in the supermarket touches the quality of the fish and fruit. And I've got my shopping on tick a couple of times when I didn't have any cash.

I go to tesco once a fortnight, the local butcher once a week, the fruit & veg shop and the bakery a few times a week. Usually have to make a few visits to corner shop if i run out of something

love the sound of the fish van with the duck eggs! and 4 plus 1 it sounds like you have some good local shops, such a rarity these days.
If you get a chance I'd love it if you would add your comments to the blog, trying to get a whole range up there so people can read about other parents experiences shopping - mixmashandmunch.blogspot.com
