I want to make some for a friend as a gift but feel utterly uncreative. So oats are meant to boost supply what else you reckon???

These are great:

Melt 4.5oz butter and 2.75oz caster sugar with 1 heaped tbsp golden syrup in a pan over low heat until thoroughly combined
Remove pan from heat and stir in 12oz oats then 4.5oz chocolate chips (or some chocolate chips, some raisins if preferred, for extra yum factor do white, milk and dark chocolate chips!)

Press into a greased tin or pyrex dish

Bake at 180C/ Gas 4 for 20-30 mins

Very moreish - I used to make them regularly for colleagues and for myself when BFing!

Oh god I must be warped.... I thought this thread was going to be about using breast milk to bake, even tho I DO KNOW you dont use milk to make flap jacks..... one glass of chardonnay too many methinks

Don't boil the sugar in the mix or it will turn to rock-hard toffee!

i think food is a great gift for a new mum. particularly soup, chilli, ratatouille, stuff that can be stuck in the freezer... but i would have been most happy with flapjacks as well.

LOL at Sukie - the thought crossed my mind too (tho I have never cooked or done anything with bm except feed it to my kids). The sainsbo's flapjack has condensed milk in it (which makes it extra gooey) and a certain well-known manufacture of formula allegedly flogs condensed milk in countries where formula is considered too expensive, so not such a massive leap Wink

Anyway, lovely idea. What a nice friend. totally second the idea of shepherds pie, chilli con carne, stews and other lovely comfort foods for mum to binge on enjoy Grin Grin
