I am making a cake for a milk allergic person . Thats not a problem but I need to decorate it. I am planning on using Royal Icing for the cake but then I am doing a handbag on top. I was going to use fondant icing ( I have only some ready to roll stuff as I can't get glucose here ) but I need to tint it beige and brown. I have the basic food colourings but not brown. Can I dissolve some cocoa in a bit of water and try to knead in or will it just go marbled on me ? DOes anybody have any suggestions ????. I will not get brown colouring in time now as I need it by next Tuesday and I get my stuff posted from the UK !
Thanks

make your own MArshmallow Fondant its yummy

16oz sml marshmallows
1-2 lbs icing sugar
3tbs water

Put marshmallows in large bowl put water over top
put in microwave for 2 mins stiring every 30secs
(When melted you can add 1 tbs of coco powder stir until dissolved)

Start adding icing sugar, when doesnt feel to sticky start needing using the rest of icing sugar leave to stand for a few hour or over night in cling film.

Roll out using a little bit of corn starch or tex

It really does taste yummy

Does sound good but I can only get pink and yellow marshmallows here the Haribo kind !!
When I have used them to make rice kripsie treats they do boil up very pink !!!!

Could you make the handbag from white fondant then paint it with colouring of some kind? Might work.....
