Mum2girls · 05/09/2005 15:05

yes, you can make it tonight and cook it tomorrow - and definitely salad and garlic bread.

Iklboo · 05/09/2005 15:06

Get the Dolmio sauces & it takes about 40 mins I think. Def garlic bread, but I usually do a salad instead of chips - but that's cos I'm perverse and like the contrast between hot & cold

munz · 05/09/2005 15:09

ooh ok then guys I'm cheating with the ragu sauce - BOGOF in tesco u know! should I give it a go tonight then do u rec?

It will be very yummy if made today and reheated tomorrow, always like it better that way. I would go for salad and garlic bread, balsamic vinegar and sea salt on the salad ... now my mouth's watering!!!

MrsSpoon · 05/09/2005 15:11

Just noticed you are going to use Ragu sauce, I would reheat homemade, what does it say on the jar about re-heating? Is is OK?

munz · 05/09/2005 15:16

don't know actually oh best not to as i'm PG, is it safe to reheat like that when PG? if it only takes about 40 mins or so i'll have enough time tmorrow - they'll just have to watch an episode of simpsons first!

Put it together, keep in fridge and then cook tomorrow?

MrsSpoon · 05/09/2005 15:20

With jars/tins I think (although am not certain) you're generally not supposed to reheat them because they are already cooked once, having occasionally reheated something like beans, the sauce tends to go a bit funny.

I certainly don't think something made from scratch and reheated (as long as it was hot enough) would be any problem when PG.

Maybe someone will know about the jar???

Definitely prepare tonight, cook meat and sauce, make lasagne but put in the fridge a cook tomorrow. Gas Mark 4 for 40 minutes.
Definitely serve with Garlic bread and Salad.......Mmmmmmm making my mouth water.

Yummy alternative - swap the mince for chicken. Cook everything exactly the same just replace the mince with diced shicken breast, absolutelu beautiful and i guarantee you will never have it the mince way again

expatinscotland · 05/09/2005 15:46

Tasted the BEST lasagne in Costco yesterday. Mmmm. Even better, it comes in its own serving dish. You just bung it into the oven.

munz · 05/09/2005 15:52

we haven't had it for yonks properly (normally it's from a packet) think i'll do the mince etc and leave it in the fridge tonight, the mince will be OK reheated won't it? it will be in for at least 30 mins.

madmarchhare · 05/09/2005 16:04

Yes thats fine, you could layer it up tonight as well.

RachD · 05/09/2005 16:11

Oh expat, you are so right, I am very proud of my lasagne - one of my best dishes, but the COSTCO one gives even mine, a good run for its money !!!

munz · 05/09/2005 16:51

ok i'll do that thanks MM.
