what does the chicken come out like, is it brown or do i have to brown off first?

TIA

Am good thanks. Hope you are well?

I have txted Norma to let her know about this thread.

Oooo fab, with the paprika being in it that gives it a nice colour without them needing browning but no harm in browning if you prefer :)

I'm seriously in love with my slow cooker, I'm currently walking to the butchers (I'm replying whilst walking & pushing the pushchair with my other hand, talk about multi tasking!) to get some sausages so I can bung a sausage casserole & dumplings in it for tea tonight Grin

jooseyfruit · 20/09/2010 09:22

ooh dumplings.
i'm just getting the hang of the slow cooker, although mine seems quite a 'fast' one iykwim, but got round this by using a plug in timer doo dah.

Can't wait to try it, was attracted to it by the enormous amount of garlic.
Thanks Norma. Smile

Thanks Bella, I'm fine although wish I was still on holiday.

Same here, I love nothing more then a whole heap of garlic in a dish, thankfully DH is the same else that could have been an issue Wink I made some lovely garlic potatos yesterday - yum!

Good luck with the recipe, let me know how you get on Grin

jooseyfruit · 20/09/2010 11:38

chicken bits bought and 6 bulbs of garlic (plus 2 i already have in fridge) should be enough. Just back from Spain and bought back loads of paprika.

Dh at work thurs night poor bloke. Might save him some though!

thanks again, enjoy your casserole and dumplings.

oh, I did rice pudding in it the other day and it was amazing. Almost caramelised (no not burnt!)by the end of cooking.

Fab thank you Grin

jooseyfruit · 23/09/2010 07:20

one more question Norma! Do I skin the chicken? TIA

OP posts:
NormaSknockers · 23/09/2010 11:52

Nope, keep the skin on Grin

jooseyfruit · 23/09/2010 12:13

great, ta. just realised though that my poxy 3.5 litre slow cooker is no where near big enough so am going to give a bash in a normal casserole dish in the oven.

It should be ok? Oh mind you I only put in about 8 drumsticks that might be why!
