bread machine and dairy allergy

Hi All,

I want to start making bread using a bread machine, but ds1 is allergic to milk and eggs and I believe lots of bread machine recipes use dried milk. Am I right? Would it be possible to modify the recipes to make them dairy free? Are any bread machines better than others?

Thanks x

Although I don't have a dairy allergy I never bother putting milk powder in my breadmaker (Panasonic 253). I haven't noticed any difference on the rare occasions I have used it. I would have thought a breadmaker would be brilliant for allergies as you know exactly what's in the bread- no obsessive label checking needed!

just leave out the milk powder, it will be fine. The purpose is to soften the crust. Likewise, a lot of recipes specify butter but oil (I usually use olive or sunflower) is fine.
