Very Ripe Pears - any urgent recipes to avoid wasting

Just opened a paper bag of what I thought was potatoes and is in fact 4-5 very ripe pears. Anyone have any ideas what I can do with them aside from puree and freeze? I was thinking a nice moist cake but I have no eggs...

Make a pear compote to go with ice cream. Yummy.

Or eggless dairy free pear sauce cake!

I make a custard type sauce (milk or cream, cornflour, vanilla, sugar) and pour over peeled and deseeded pears.
bake in the oven for 20 min or so, until it just starts to brown.

Wow... thanks ladies. Didn't realise I'd get so many ideas.

Make a rich bread dough ( stick an egg in it),shape into a rectangle, sprinkle with semolina/cornmeal/ground almonds cover with quartered pears sprinkle with sugar bake in oven, eat!

I have a variant of mousymouse's dessert.

Peeled, cored and sliced pears, arranged pleasingly in flat bottomed serving bowls. 450ml milk, 2 eggs, 3 tbsp sugar (or I use granulated sweetener) and 1 tsp vanilla, mixed together. Pour over the pears and bake 25 minutes at 180 degrees. Sprinkle icing sugar over the top just before serving. Best served warm, rather than hot.

We've just had this tonight, in fact. Yum.
