capacity of slow cookers

I read lots of people's comments on how good slow cookers are. Was just wondering are they big enough to cook for a large family. There are 7 of us. I dont want to buy one and find its too small

They come in different sizes. Mine is a smaller one but could still feed 4-6. I think if you are regularly cooking for 7 then maybe go for one of the bigger ones.
