This is Nigella's I think...

40g butter
80g plain flour
60g mature cheddar
1 large egg

sift flour - rub in butter (cut into cubes) until it looks like breabcrumbs.
Add the grated cheese and mix together.
add half the beaten egg and stir until it comes together then use hands to owrk it into a ball.
Dust work surface with a little flour, roll out half the pastry into rectangle about 3mm thick.
Cut into straws or use cutter for shapes.
Put straws/shapes on greased baking sheet, sprinkle with extra cheese and bake at 180/160fan/gas4 for 12-15 mins

Then eat them all Grin

Second that recipe - I added a little parmesan, pinch of paprika and a little mustard.

They were delicious and super-easy.

FYI the Nigella recipe I had (from Feast) says to do in the processor - I only have a mini hand blender one with attachment but did in that and it took about 20 seconds to come together, 30 secs to roll out so very fast and easy.

Sorry - this was the Nigella recipe I meant.

I loved it as no need even for an egg. V nice and easy.

Sorry, just checked and mine isn't a Nigella recipe - was from the Good Food mag, one of the "kids can cook" sections.

I may have to try it now Smile

She does a cheese star one and a cheese feet one. The cheese feet in the cheddar and the stars are red leicester and parmesan.

OK so mine was a cheesy feet variant - cheddar plus a little parmesan, paprika and mustard for zing. DD loved it, we loved it, nice warm from the oven and cold from tupperware the next day - only leftover because I hid them, otherwise we would have eaten them all. Yum.
