DIY soured cream

Forgot to buy soured cream to go with tonight's fajitas. Popped into the village shop and the guy said he didn't have any but it can easily be made by adding lemon juice to double cream, which he did have. That sounded like rubbish to me but I bought the cream anyway.

Yep think this works, It has been recomended on here before I think. I have not tried it myself but as you have the cream and presumably lemon juice I would go for it and if I doesn't work you still won't have soured cream but nothing ventured nothing gained !!

Let us know what happens !!

Yes, it works. Just add the lemon juice slowly!!

Cool. Thanks. Fajitas without soured cream are just not acceptable imo.

It does work. I couldn't live without soured cream, have it with lots of things.

Indeed. Plums are standing by in the kitchen for the Waitrose baked plums with three tons of brown sugar and soured cream recipe later this week.

Successful, but not exactly the same, possibly because our shop insists on selling guernsey xxxtra creamy double cream Shock.
