Quick help- cooking curry in oven

purplearmadillo · 15/09/2010 15:03

I normally cook curry (nothing fancy, korma paste, chicken, veg and chopped tomatoes) all on the hob. I need to go out and want to leave it cooking.

Will it be ok if I put it in a casserole dish in the oven? If so, what temperature do you think? I thought perhaps lowish - 140 fan??

Thanks!!

We always put our curries in the oven for at least an hour, also bolognese, and tomato sauces - it seems to improve the flavour.

We use 160 in our (not very good) fan oven, and put a bit of extra water in, so it doesn't boil dry.

Thanks, i thought it would be ok. Sounds like 140 is about right, our fan works quite well.
