Will we get sick on week old chicken soup?

Made soup from leftover roast chicken last weekend. Just realised/remembered it was still in the fridge. If we heat it up/boil it really well this evening to eat (the chicken is abt 2weeks old now) are we going to get sick?

Yes you will

Chuck it - sorry

bebemoohatessnot · 10/09/2010 17:55

That's what I thought/feared.
Dh says if it doesn't smell bad it'll be ok.
It doesn't smell bad, but there's a lot of broccoli in it so you cannot smell much else besides that...

I wouldn't eat 2 week old chicken ...

I usually keep for 2, maybe 3 days at a push

bebemoohatessnot · 10/09/2010 17:58

Me too. Dh says we waste too much food :S He's watched that BBC show recently and is gone all gun-ho on the using food to it's limits.

Minimizing food waste is good

Getting food poisoning to prove your point isn't

bebemoohatessnot · 10/09/2010 18:01

I'll tell him that Wink

Yes, that is too long for chicken.

Although you could let DH carry out an experiment if he wants!

bebemoohatessnot · 10/09/2010 18:06

Hell no! I'd be taking care of him and the wee one; that would be just a little too much for me. One whining baby is more than enough Wink
