What are your favourite nibbles?

We have recently moved and a few of our neighbours are coming round for post dinner drinks. I'd like to serve some interesting nibbles that go beyond crisps and dips. Any ideas as I seem to be drawing a blank?

Strips of chicken, toss in flour and shallow fry till browned on both sides. With sweet chilli dip. Nom nom.

smoked salmon served on top of philadelphia marscapone on top of ritz crackers homemade blinis

mini bruschettas- french stick brushed ith olive oil toasted and topped with pesto/cut up tomatoes/basil/mozarella

puff pastry tartlets filled with goats cheese and redcurrant jelly

mozarella balls wrapped in a bit of roasted pepper (from jar) wrapped in parma ham.

Although just re-reading your OP, if its post-dinner drinks, id be tempted to do something sweet rather than savoury- little mini desserts?

few ideas here

Thanks for these ideas. I think you're right, sweet may be the way to go. Our neighbours had us over for a lovely BBQ (piss up) and I want to reciprocate!!!

our local Italian deli does the most divine cannoli - tiny sweet cream or nutella type choc hazelnut goo filled crispy thingies.

or just get a selection of different G and B choc, cut into squares and arrange artfully on a plate. With some very posh nuts too. Dark choc and nuts are our nibbles of choice with wine after dinner.
