Beware ice-cream stains!

Thought you might be interested (if you have not discovered already) to know that Walls Mini Milk ice-creams (particularly the chocolate one) stains terribly. I have 2 items of toddler clothing that cannot be worn again because the marks are so obvious. They were soaked immediately after the drips occurred and were then washed as normal in a machine. I was so shocked to see them there afterwards. I have been onto the Walls careline and they quite proudly told me that "Yes, our products do stain and No there is no warning on the boxes!!!" As a goodwill gesture they are sending me a £3 Walls voucher - whooopee I can buy some more!

Anyway make sure your little ones are naked when they (if they) eat this product although I dread to think what it might do to their skin. Walls assured me that there are no artificial colourings in the mini milks - I'm not so sure!

pretty much all chocolate ice cream stains. Takes a vast number of washes to shift the marks.

Yes, these do stain and I think even Shout, which removes most stains can't totally shift this one. I always give ds2 the white ones and leave the pink and choc ones for the older pair!

chco uice cream is a nightmare to get off....
i say get off.... not yet found a way to get it off!

jabberwocky · 03/09/2005 02:29

Do you have oxyclean in the UK? It seems to get out practically everything.

NannyL · 03/09/2005 11:26

vanish oxyaction is i think similar.... even making the powder into the 'paste' (its strongest form) didnt work for me

RTKangaMummy · 03/09/2005 12:16

DS is only allowed choc ice cream with T shirt off

Good idea to campaign to have warnings on the boxes

My mum reckons "terrys choc orange" ice cream doesn't stain and it is deffo brill to eat.

stacijc · 03/09/2005 13:25

yes we have oxyclean jabberwocky...tis fab!!!!!

also oxyaction but i think oxyclean does a better job.

We managed to get choc ice cream off after a few washes with oxyclean BUT its still on the white part of the top(its one of those monkey tops from next)
