How long to cook tiny fairy cakes?

linspins · 09/09/2010 12:16

I've bought some 'petit fours ' cake cases to make weeny fairy cakes for Dd birthday. My recipe book only says how long to bake normal sized fairy cakes (gas mark 5, 20-25 mins).
How long do you think it will take the tiny ones? 15? and at a lower gas mark or the same? I don't want to burn them!

Thanks all.

Poke with a cocktail stick (would normally say a knife but that might demolish them). If it comes out clean, cake is done. If it comes out with cake mix on, cakes are not done.

I'd use the same gas mark, but would check one after 10 minutes. 15 maximum.

Should be arround 12 min. and as TrilliamAstra suggested the stick if perfect to check.

Have you tried cake lollipops?
