Gas or electric oven?

I have just moved house and have inherited a 10 year old stoves double gas oven. The top works but the bottom doesn't! I was wondering whether it was worth investing in getting it repaired (nearly £200) or replaced? Gas or electirc replacement? Any thnoughts/experiences welcome. Thanks

I've always preferred a gas hob but an electric oven.

Thanks for that! Anyone else?

I prefer the taste of stuff cooked in a gas oven. Not sure what it is about it. But they are more of a pain to use - harder to regulate temperature and if you accidentally switch it off too early then sometimes they refuse to re-light. This might just be older ones though, I'm not sure if new ovens are any better.
