i need to sort out meals so i am not spending a fortune everyday but so that we are eating well and the food doesn't go off.

we will be eating at my mums on friday and sunday evening so will be 6 evening meals and 8 lunches. also, what should i do about milk? my neighbour is keeping my milk for me tonight but she works so i won't have access to it during the day. should i pour some into a small container in the morning?

Keep your milk outside, the weather is pretty cool outside where I am at the moment. Can anyone keep freezing ice packs for you so you can keep some stuff in a cool box?

Can you borrow a camping plug in cool box or a beer fridge from someone temporarily?

i did that the first night but it went sour. i have a cool box so will ask neighbour if she will freeze the blocks for me tonight.

Could you try UHT milk? Its only for a few days, after all.

I was brought up on things on toast. Tins are your friend. Beans on toast, eggs ( boiled, poached, fried, scrambled on toast, sardines on toast, etc. Veg on the side - don't suppose you grow your own? Can pick carrots etc then as you use.

Look in your storecupboard - pasta with tinned toms and grated cheese ( cheese will keep for a few days if not too hot ), tuna pasta bake, risotto with veg. Omelette.

how about getting milkman to deliver milk daily.

years ago people didnt have fridges and their milk was ok

OR get cravendale. i use it camping and it survivied a week in a (not very cold in the last few days, when my ice blocks had melted) cool bag when camping
