Birthday cake woes

I am smugly proud of my birthday cakes for DD so far and have attempted fairly fabulous dinosaurs, barges (don't ask) and all manner of greatness for any occasion. If it stands still I will ice it.

Next month (fourth b.day) she has asked for a Sylvanian Families cake. I am stumpted. Short of making a random grass/trees scene and sticking the actual figures in, I can't think what to do. Attempting to do bear/rabbit/whatever faces will just look like the animal, not Sylvanians (blast them).

Any ideas?

I think a scene with the figures around/on it will look great....all those fiddly little bits! Rolled up icing bits for (I don't know) a fruit stall?
A house with some fiddly bits outside?

Yy, just do a scene and put figures on- she will love it, esp when she gets to keep them.
I saw the lakeside lodge thingy half price in entertainer this week if you're after a present too.

There is a birthday set, you could have them sitting on a picnic rug, with a daisy strewn cake?here ?

Thanks Cpn Nancy, that's a kind thought. I'm not buying any for her - it's a useful thing to tell Grandparents etc whn they ask what she wants. I'll pass that on to them

That bed one is sweet but would not look as lovely if I did it! I think 5Orange's idea of buying the birthday set or at least stealing the idea and making our existing figures hold balloons and have a party-on-a-cake is a winner.
I think I'll do a plain iced cake, a picnic rug and a few figures holding balloons or presents. Hopefully that won't look too feeble

Did the SF birthday cake happen? My DD (6 next month) is desperate for one too so I'm hoping for ideas I can steal....
