anyone use a supermarket menu planner?

Heard the money saving expert Martyn Lewis on the radio the other day and his caller said they have reduced their weekly food bill by 50% using their supermarket meal planner that includes a shopping list. I hate shopping and would love the idea of a supermarket doing the thinking for me, he said that the list meant they shopped for a week and had next to no food going off unused.

Anyone else do this? I like to shop online as I fall into a zombie-like trance when in a supermarket and end up with stuff on offer that I don't even like! I have had a quick look on a few supermarket sites, the caller didn't name the one providing the service.

i have never heard of this but it is something i would like to try. i always buy stuff and then have no use for it so it goes off.

Would you consider paying for a service that gives you a weekly menu plan, plus the shopping list to go with it - basically what the supermarket meal planners do but ALSO then someone who arranges the online shop as well. You would pay for the shopping as you normally would if you did an online shop but also pay a minimal amount for the service - say, about £5 per week.
