I will be using frozen pastry, I love broccolie and cheese quiche but have never made my own. Just wondering what everyone else puts in their quiche.

Also are there any recipes that have less calories?

I have a very approximate attitude to quiche. To do broccoli & cheese I would do:

Defrost pastry.

Roll out and put in dish.

Prick all over with fork

Bake for about 10 mins on about 180 degrees.

Cook broccoli, cut into smallish bits

Grate about 2 handfuls of cheese. Use anything like cheddar, stilton, gruyere.

Put broccoli in part-baked pastry. Sprinkle over most of the cheese.

Beat eggs and some milk. Or cream, or creme fraiche if you have it. Depending on the size of your dish, you might need between 3 and 6 eggs.

Cook for about 30 mins on about 180 degrees.

Eat hot or cold.

A lower calorie version would be with milk not cream. Afraid quiche isn't exactly low fat food though because of the pastry!

Thank you for the tips, I would not have thought of baking the pastry first.

I didn't think there would be a low calorie recipe but worth a try.
