...or anything fruity-flapjacky that would be suitable for a 10mo to snack on.

I have a reliable flapjack recipe that I've used for ages, but there just seems to be an awful lot of butter/sugar/syrup in it (probably why it always goes down well Grin)

Don't fancy feeding that to DS just yet and was wondering how to make something a little healthier?

You can do banana oat bars - which allows alot of the butter and sugar to be replaced with mashed banana Smile

I'd mix about 2 mugfuls of oats with 3 mashed bananas, a couple of tbs of butter or oil, a couple of tbs of honey or agave syrup, and whatever chopped dried fruits, seeds or nuts you want to add in (if any)... Then pour the mix into a baking tray and bake at 180 for 20-30 minutes. Nice and moist and tasty.

Ooo - sounds good. Will give it a go thanks.

And as a bonus can use left over agave syrup to make myself a cheeky Tommy's Margherita Grin

Nothing wrong with butter - babies need fats, hence the quasi-ban on semi-skimmed milk for the under twos. Sugar not so good though.

Indeed true.
Not looking to go all low-fat, a bit of butter won't hurt. Though too much butter also not good - there are healthier fats.

Looking for a happy medium oatyflapthing. DS likes to snack a lot!
